Tools that make potty training simple
I found a few hardcover books for potty training for both girls and boys that you can read to your child. The pictures in the books are pictures of real children on the potty, with easy to read and understand text and great colored pictures. The pictures of the real children capture your child's attention, help your child develop confidence and offer encouragement to your training toddler. I believe the books got my son interested in sitting on the potty. I also let my son watch elmo's potty time DVD which he really got into. In the DVD there are songs that teach children about going potty, keeping good hygiene by washing your hands after using the potty, and wiping after using the potty, but not using too much toilet paper. It's a very good video and very useful. Than we started to use the summer infant step -by-step potty trainer. It is just the right size for my little boy and it has all kinds added features that make potty training easy. I really like how it converts into a step stool when the training seat is placed in the adult toilet providing you with two step stools.
Here are the books I bought for my son:
A Potty for Me!: A Lift-the-Flap Instruction Manual
And this is the potty I got for him:
Step-by-Step Potty Training System by Summer Infant - one color, one size
Good luck and remember the most important thing with potty training is patients and a bag of M&Ms! :)
